1- In the first step you would need to create the batter for both your carrot idli and the dhokla. 

For carrot idli batter -  

Chop carrots in small pieces and then blend them in a blender, keep them aside. 

Then, add ½ cup dal to a bowl and wash a few times, and then soak it for around 6 hours. 

Add 1 cup of idli rice and 2 tablespoons of rava in another bowl, clean them with water for a few times, drain the water and soak it properly. 

After 6 hours drain off the dal mixture and add a bit of salt. Then add ¾ cup of water in the mixture and blend it properly. 

Then add carrots in the batter, and your carrot idli batter is prepared.

1- To prepare dhokla batter you need to soak chana dal and rice for a few hours, drain the water and then blend it. You can add salt and baking powder, it will help you make dhokla fluffy.

3- Before actually starting the cooking process, add ½ cup water in the kadai and place it on a slow flame.
