International Women's Day: Celebrating Women in the Culinary Industry

1. Chef Pooja Dhingra
Chef Pooja Dhingra is a pastry chef, entrepreneur, and the founder of Le15 Patisserie, a chain of pastry shops in Mumbai. She studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and returned to India to start her own patisserie. Chef Pooja has been named as Forbes India 30 Under 30, and she is also the author of two best-selling cookbooks, "The Big Book of Treats" and "The Wholesome Kitchen."
2. Chef Garima Arora
Chef Garima Arora is a Michelin-starred chef and the owner of Gaa, a restaurant in Bangkok. She was born and raised in Mumbai and started her career as a journalist before transitioning to cooking. Chef Garima trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and worked at Noma in Copenhagen before opening her own restaurant in Bangkok. She is the first Indian woman to receive a Michelin star and has been named as one of Time magazine's 100 Next most influential people. 3. Chef Romy Gill
Chef Romy Gill is a British-Indian chef, restaurateur, author, and television personality who has made a significant impact on the UK's food scene. She was born and raised in West Bengal and moved to the UK in 1994. She is the owner of the Romy's Kitchen restaurant in Bristol, UK, which serves authentic Indian cuisine with a modern twist. Chef Romy has also written a cookbook, "Zaika," which features her family recipes and her own take on classic Indian dishes.
4. Chef Asma Khan
Chef Asma Khan is a British-Indian chef, restaurateur, and the owner of the Darjeeling Express restaurant in London. She was born and raised in Kolkata and moved to the UK in 1991. Chef Asma trained as a lawyer but left the profession to pursue her passion for cooking. She started the Darjeeling Express supper club in her home before opening her own restaurant. Chef Asma has been featured on Netflix's Chef's Table and has been named as one of the most influential people in the UK hospitality industry.
5. Chef Nita Mehta
Chef Nita Mehta is a well-known cookbook author and television personality in India. She has written over 600 cookbooks, which have sold millions of copies worldwide. Chef Nita started her career as a teacher before transitioning to cooking and writing. She has won several awards for her cookbooks and has been featured on various television shows.
